HEB Schools Take Top Spots in Dancing Semi-Finals
Ten HEB elementary schools performed the merengue, rumba, tango, foxtrot, and swing May 6 in the Dancing Classrooms North Texas spring semi-finals. Three schools from Fort Worth ISD competed for gold, silver, and bronze awards along with the 10 HEB schools. Midway Park and South Euless schools were presented bronze-level ribbons for their performances, along with the three Fort Worth schools. Shady Brook, Bell Manor, Meadow Creek, Spring Garden and Wilshire received silver-level ribbons for their performances. Lakewood, North Euless, and Oakwood Terrace took all three gold awards for their dances. The HEB performance team, made up of sixth graders who learn more advanced dances, entertained the audience while judges tallied results. Bedford Heights and River Trails, which won gold during the fall semi-finals, will join the spring gold winners in a competition against six teams from Dallas ISD. The finals will be held at UTA May 20.
